Ian is hosting an open night/jam night to give singers and musicians an opportunity to get up and play in front of an audience. There will be a PA, guitar amps, mics, but no drums!

We need an audience as well - so bring your friends along!

How it all went on the first night .....

Opening Night for the new

Jam/Open Night at THE EUROPA

Ian’s brand new Jam/Open Night had it’s first night last Wednesday.  It was a resounding success – despite the competition it had from the England football match against Croatia!!  I must say spirits were soon restored once the fabulous musicians that came to share with us started playing.

After a couple of opening numbers by Ian, a brave Nigel came up to be the first musician of the new night!  He played two instrumentals on acoustic guitar which he has composed himself.

Jonathan Bental and Pete Emery followed suit setting the standard for the evening.  Anna came up to close the first set impressing us with her rendition of “Summertime”.

After the break standards cranked up even more!!!  We were very priviledged to have Richard Hayes and Val Cowell, from “Bad Influence”, as special guests!   Ian and Richard, a regular Duo on the Professional Circuit opened the second set to get things rolling.  They were followed by Clive and Dolores from Twisted Rythms joined by a friend, Adam, on lead guitar. This duo is  breaking through into the professional circuit and are sure to be very successful.  We wish them the best of luck.

Val Cowell’s  brothers, Ant (guitar/singer)  and Dave (harmonica) were also there to support the new venture and entertained us with their enthusiastic renditions. .  Thank you, thank you Dave and Ant for coming and supporting the new Jam/Open night.

We couldn’t have had a better finale:  Val and Richard, “Bad Influence” in person, put a golden brooch on the night with two super numbers that had us all rockin’ rolling! Thank you Val.  Thank you Richard.

It will be a hard act to follow, but going by the comments we have received, the talk of the locals and the promises of “we’ll be back” we had on the night, I am sure that Ian’s new Jam/Open Night at the Europe is going to be a good one.
